My research thusfar has mainly focused on statistical modeling when covariates are subject to censoring, specifically due to detection limits, missing data, and in biostatistical applications. I have developed multiple methods for fitting generalized linear models, survival models, and joint models when some covariates are subject to detection limits and possibly longitundinal in nature.

I am an Asociate Professor of Statistics at Villanova University in the Mathematics and Statistics Department. I completed a Ph.D. in statistics at North Carolina State University in 2013. I now reside in Plymouth Meeting, PA near Norristown, and I grew up not far away in Lancaster, PA. I lived in Raleigh, NC during graduate school.
I am delighted to be a professor at Villanova for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, I enjoy teaching statistics to others and inspiring others to learn. I have known for many years that my passions lies in education, and Villanova is a place that truly emphasizes high-quality teaching. I am also enjoy the opportunity to work on research, both in statistical methodology and in biostatistics applications.
I have been married for about 14 years to my wonderful wife Tawny. She is also from the Lancaster area originally, growing up about 5 minutes away from my family. We recently had an adorable baby girl, Naomi Grace.
I have a wide variety of interests. As a native Eastern Pennsylvanian, I am a huge fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers, and Flyers (in that order), though my wife unfortunately prefers the Steelers. I enjoy watching or playing just about any sport. At one time or another, I have participated in the following sports for either a recreational (r) or school team (s): cross country (s), track and field (distance running, s), tennis (s), volleyball (s), baseball (r), softball (r), basketball (r), and bowling (r). I also play golf and disc golf occasionally, though I am mediocre at both. I once won a ping-pong tournament due to a lack of competition and, if pressured (or not), I'll shoot pool or throw darts. Other than sports, I enjoy playing the piano. I took lessons for ten years, but now just play recreationally. When I get the chance, I like to take hikes, and since that can get boring I often look for birds and other wildlife. Check out some of my amateur bird pictures here. Of course, while I like to stay busy, occasionally I enjoy sitting back and watching episodes of some of my favorite TV shows such as The Walking Dead, Survivor, Big Bang Theory, and Law and Order: SVU.
